Frequently asked questions.
ARE PETS ALLOWED?
If you are booking a campsite, absolutely! Dogs love a trip to Cedar Creek (link to campsite booking) and we don’t want you leaving your best friend behind. Dogs are not allowed on the float and must be on a leash at all times.
wHAT FISHING LICENSES DO I NEED?
For any trip within Virginia and West Virginia, all clients need to have a valid state freshwater fishing license. Each state also requires trout licenses during specific seasons. In addition, National Forest Service fishing permits are required on any national forest lands. We’ll discuss the details of your booking when you call to book your trip! You can purchase licenses on the websites linked below.

wHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Guided trips are normally held rain or shine, with the only exceptions being extreme weather events (flooding, thunderstorms, snow, etc.). If you’re concerned about your trip, give me a call! We want you to have the best trip possible and life happens. We’ll work to get you re-scheduled. In case you can’t tell, I’m a big fan of calling if you need anything.

WHAT EQUIPTMENT DO I NEED?
This depends on your booking.
Float trip? Bring yourself and smart clothes (layers are best). Wear sunblock and shoes you don’t mind getting wet. I’ll provide rods, flies, lunch and water.
Self guided wade trip? You bring all equipment (wet or dry wading gear - we have some pretty deep spots on Cedar but it’s nice to wet wade in the warmer months). Dress smart, hydrate, and bring a snack. Don’t forget sunscreen and bug spray! Most of the creeks we’ll target you can use a 5 wt rod with 4x or 5x leaders and tippet.
Guided trip of any length? We provide flies you bring all else (unless you want to use your own flies, which you are welcome to). Dress smart, hydrate, and bring a snack. Don’t forget sunscreen and bug spray!
DO I NEED TO SIGN ANYTHING?
Yes. The liability waiver found here. Thank you.
